The Intelligent Design movement cries foul
Transcript of today's show: Sound Off: Science & Faith. Our point/counterpoint regulars Shelley (the voice of science) and Peter (the voice of faith), comment on the story.
The journal New Scientist has been accused of biased reporting against Intelligent Design. Apparently, the journal has encouraged scientists to openly attack the theory. One reporter took on a fake identity to infiltrate the ID movement and dig up dirt for scathing articles. Intelligent Design activists are fighting back. Not only are they publishing corrections to falsified news stories, but they too are digging up dirt on the journalists who report them. [source: Evolution News & Views]

The Voice of Faith: Peter Williamson, M.Div., comments:
This latest rejoinder from Intelligent Design involves just one of many myriad attempts from a variety of liberal camps to tarnish their character. Those who seek to sabotage the Intelligent Design movement may only do so to themselves. Dirty politics on the part of the Darwinists, in the end, will be meaningless. I do believe that truth will ultimately prevail.
The Voice of Science: Shelley Greene, Ph.D., comments:
I don’t believe such sloppy reporting practices are ever warranted. Frankly, the Intelligent Design folks reveal enough in their public statements, published articles, and internet podcasts to give journalists lots of fodder for their feeding frenzies. All of you at New Scientist, and elsewhere, don’t get into muckraking and smear campaigns. First, you will cheapen your integrity and thus your writing. Secondly, it’s simply unnecessary.
