Time magazine recently reported that Tina Fey has seized vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin’s public image. While Fey spoofs Palin as a beauty queen who has to phone a friend to answer interview questions, the real Palin accuses Obama of befriending terrorists. The Tina Fey version of Sarah Palin appears harmless -- making it harder to see the real candidate as the Spiro Agnew-like hatchet woman she really is.

Calling the Bush faith-based program "a photo op", Senator Obama says he would scrap the office entirely and create a new Council for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships that would be a "critical" part of his new administration.

A leading creationist accuses Barack Obama of pushing a fruitcake interpretation of the Constitution

In a direct fire across the bow of Fundamentalist Evangelical Christianity, the presumed Democratic candidate for US president has clearly stated where he stands on the evolution-creationism controversy. In his first speech after winning the Democratic nomination, Senator Obama took this very public opportunity to remind voters that his administration will be renewing a commitment to science, as had Bill Clinton when he was president.
